Waltham Forest

What we offer

Within Waltham Forest, we offer 1-1 casework mentoring to 18 - 30 year olds under our Ministry of Justice contract. Through this project we  work with family and professionals to provide bespoke and trauma-informed mentoring to the young person. This service is offered directly to those in Probation. 

We also offer 1-1 casework mentoring to 11 - 18 year olds as part of our Youth Endowment Fund, Meaningful Mentoring project. Through this project we  work with family and professionals to provide bespoke and trauma-informed mentoring to the young person. Please note, this project is being conducted as Randomised Control Trial, so half of all young people referred will not receive mentoring. Barking & Dagenham

What we offer

Within Barking & Dagenham, we offer 1-1 casework mentoring to 11 - 25 year olds under our Ending Gangs & Youth Violence (EGYV) contract. Through this project we  work with family and professionals to provide bespoke and trauma-informed mentoring to the young person. 

We also offer 1-1 casework mentoring to 11 - 18 year olds under our Youth Justice Service (YJS) contract. Through this project we  work with family and professionals to provide bespoke and trauma-informed mentoring to the young person. 

Alongside these projects, we offer 1-1 casework mentoring to 18 - 30 year olds under our Ministry of Justice contract. Through this project we  work with family and professionals to provide bespoke and trauma-informed mentoring to the young person. This service is offered directly to those in Probation. 

Who is eligible

EGYV: (11 - 25 year olds) 

  • Known group/gang offender (can be evidenced)
  • Known violent offender (violence linked to group/gang activity)
  • Habitual carrier of a weapon(s)
  • Convictions for violent offences

YJS: (11 - 18 year olds)

  • Likely to re-offend
  • Habitual knife carrier
  • Potential drug dealing/money unaccounted for/two phones/linked missing episodes
  • Known for serious group violence
  • Affiliations with known gang members
  • Victim of physical attacks linked to gangs/drug dealers

Ministry of Justice: (18 - 30 year olds)

  • Known group/gang offender
  • Known violent offender (violence linked to group/gang activity)
  • Carries weapons
  • Violent behaviour (including threats to harm)
  • Convictions for violent offences
  • Has been a victim of a violent crime
  • Drug related activites

Lewisham

What we offer

In Lewisham, we offer 1-1 casework mentoring to 18 - 30 year olds under our Ministry of Justice contract. Through this project we  work with family and professionals to provide bespoke and trauma-informed mentoring to the young person. This service is offered directly to those in Probation. 

We also offer 1-1 casework mentoring to 11 - 25 year olds under ourLewisham Council’s Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL) contract. Through this project we  work with family and professionals to provide bespoke and trauma-informed mentoring to the young person.

Our Detached Casework programme, My Ends also runs in Lewisham. The young people we support through this project are aged 13 - 25 years old. Through this programme we give young people the opportunity to interact with our team on the streets in their own area and develop an exit strategy from the criminal lifestyles that they may be involved in. We do this through bespoke 1-1 casework mentoring.

Self Referrals

Under the My Ends contract, we accept self referrals from young people. This happens in the three estates our team operate in: Pepys Estate,Honor Oak Estate, and the Monson and Hatcham areas of New Cross.

If you are a young person in these areas, you can speak with the Spark2Life team in person at the estates they work in or give Niall, Senior Co-ordinator, a call to access support: 07971759093

Newham
