Cookies

This cookie policy ("Policy") describes what cookies are and how Website Operator ("Website Operator", "we", "us" or "our") uses them on the website and any of its products or services (collectively, "Website" or "Services").

You should read this Policy so you can understand what type of cookies we use, the information we collect using cookies and how that information is used. It also describes the choices available to you regarding accepting or declining the use of cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are text files that are stored on your web browser by a website’s server. Each cookie is unique to your browser, and will contain certain information such as a unique identifier and the website domain name.

This information is sent back to the server each time your browser requests a page from it. This enables the website server to identify and track your web browser via your unique identifier.

Are there different types of cookies?

There are a number of different types of cookies that might be stored by your website browser. Cookies often fall into five categories:

  • Necessary cookies: Necessary cookies are essential to the running of a website. Without these cookies, it is not possible for the site to function properly. For example, necessary cookies allow an ecommerce site to store your basket while you browse, or allow you to log in to secure areas of a website.
  • Functional cookies: Functional cookies enable a website to operate in line with the choices you make. For example, they allow the website to remember how you may have previously customised the site for future visits, or ensure that you stay logged in when you return to the site in the future.
  • Performance cookies: Performance cookies allow website owners to deliver a better user experience by understanding and analysing the key performance indexes of the website.
  • Analytical cookies: Analytical cookies allow the website owner, and any approved third-party services, to collect data on how visitors use that website. For example, analytical cookies can show information on how many visitors a page on the website has had. These cookies are used to help improve your experience on a website.
  • Advertising (or tracking) cookies: Advertising cookies are set through a website by an advertising partner to allow relevant adverts to be shown to you, on that website or elsewhere on the internet, based on what it thinks you are interested in. These cookies may also allow the advertiser to monitor and assess how successful their adverts have been, for example by showing data about how many times those adverts have been clicked. If these cookies are rejected, you may see adverts online that are less relevant to your interests.

How does Spark2Life use cookies?

Spark2Life uses cookies to support the functionality of its website, enhance user experience, and gather insights to help improve its services. These may include necessary cookies, as well as cookies for analytics and performance (such as Google Analytics), and potentially advertising or behavioural cookies. Some of these cookies are set directly by Spark2Life, while others may be set by third-party providers whose services Spark2Life uses to operate and analyse its website effectively.

You can access full details on the specific cookies used on the Spark2Life website by selecting the floating blue button on the bottom-left of your screen. This will give you information on each of the cookies we use, including what each cookie is for, what “type” of cookie they fall into, and how long that cookie will be stored for.

Can I be identified from my cookies?

Any information that is collected by Spark2Life via cookies is processed in a way which does not, and cannot, identify an individual person by reference to a name or physical address. We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting the Spark2Life website.

If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be transparent about this (for example, when requesting your contact details to process an enquiry). We will make it clear when we collect personal information, and will explain what we intend to do with that personal information in our privacy notice.

Are cookies compulsory?

Necessary cookies are essential to the running of our website and are exempt from the requirement of consent as per the GDPR and PECR.

Functional, analytical and advertising cookies are all optional, and we will only store these cookies on your browser where we have received your freely-given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent. However, rejecting certain of these cookies may have a negative impact upon the usability or personalization of our website.

How can I opt-out of, or delete, the cookies on my browser?

We manage cookie consent using a plugin called Civic UK Cookie control system.[1] After you have set your initial preference for cookies on the Spark2Life website, you can manage your consent by clicking the floating blue button on the bottom-left of your screen. Clicking this button will bring up a Preferences window, enabling you to change or withdraw your consent.

You can also restrict or block the cookies that are set across all sites via your browser settings. You can find comprehensive information on how to do this on a wide variety of browsers and devices via InternetCookies.com.
