PRU & Schools Advisory Panel
In schools and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), we facilitate weekly youth panel sessions, where young people are not only encouraged to provide feedback on the delivery of our services but are also empowered to contribute to strategic discussions on how our programmes should evolve. These sessions are pivotal in allowing at-risk students to express how they want to be supported, enabling them to consider some protective factors to mitigate the risks they face.
During the weekly sessions, the students develop a range of skills related to communication and learn how to use these skills to share their voice effectively with their school and in this way a by-product of our work, is that they also contribute to shaping their school environment.
Community Youth Panel
Outside of school settings, we run bi-weekly community-based youth panel sessions where young people come together to engage in leadership training, review mentoring session content and provide input on our branding and communications.
Through these sessions, young people also have the opportunity to practice public speaking and facilitation skills, preparing them to take on leadership roles within Spark2Life and beyond.
Youth Voice 1:1
For those unable to participate in group sessions due to safeguarding concerns, postcode issues or high-risk of violence and involvement in crime, we facilitate one-to-one ‘youth voice’ sessions.
Young people contribute insights into how we can better integrate lived experience within our training materials, refine our methods to be more culturally-competent and develop resources that resonate with those in particularly vulnerable circumstances.
